Terms of Service for HVAC Work in Burlington, Vermont

Last Updated: 10/20/2026

What Our HVAC Services Cover

Last updated: October 2026

These terms apply to heating, cooling, and ventilation work we perform at Vermont homes and small commercial properties, including repair, maintenance, replacement, and new installation of furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, air conditioners, and ductless systems. Refrigerant handling is performed by technicians holding EPA Section 608 certification, and recovery and disposal follow Clean Air Act requirements along with Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation rules.

Work is completed to the Vermont Fire and Building Safety Code and, where applicable, the Vermont Residential Building Energy Standards. Projects inside Burlington may require mechanical permits through the City of Burlington Department of Permits and Inspections; we confirm scope with the city before starting.

Regulated wiring is handled by electricians holding Vermont electrical licensing, and any electrical work falls under a separate agreement. Duct cleaning, insulation upgrades, generator service, and appliance repair are outside our scope unless quoted in writing.

Booking, Rescheduling, and Cancellations

Appointments can be scheduled by phone or through our website. We provide an arrival window rather than an exact time, and we will call ahead if a technician is running behind.

If you need to cancel or move an appointment, please give at least 24 hours notice so we can offer the slot to another customer. Cancellations made with less notice, or missed appointments when no one is home, may be subject to a trip charge, which we will explain at the time of booking.

Emergency calls are handled as scheduling allows and may carry different response times during winter cold snaps and summer heat waves. If we discover additional work is needed once on site, we will stop, explain the findings, and get your approval before proceeding. No scope changes are made without your sign-off.

Quotes, Pricing, and Payment Terms

Written estimates are provided before most work begins and list labor, materials, and any anticipated permit fees. Estimates are valid for 30 days because equipment and material costs can change.

Small diagnostic repairs may be billed at a flat rate quoted on site before the work starts. If hidden conditions such as corroded ductwork, unsafe wiring, or code issues require additional labor or parts, we will present a revised estimate for your approval before continuing.

Payment is due upon completion of the job unless other arrangements are stated in your proposal. For larger installations, a deposit may be required to order equipment, with the balance due at project completion.

We accept standard payment methods and will provide an itemized invoice. We do not begin billable work without your approval of the quoted price.

Our Workmanship Guarantee

We stand behind the quality of our installation and repair work. Labor performed by our technicians is warranted against defects in workmanship for one year from the completion date, unless a different period is stated in your written proposal.

Equipment and parts are covered by the manufacturer’s own warranty, and we will help you register products and process any manufacturer claims. Coverage applies to normal residential use and assumes the system has been maintained as recommended.

The workmanship warranty does not cover damage from neglect, frozen or burst components caused by power outages, unauthorized repairs by others, filters not replaced on schedule, or parts you supplied yourself. If a warranted issue comes up, call us and we will return to correct it at no labor charge. Warranty service does not extend the original coverage period.

Limits on Our Liability

Our responsibility for any claim related to work we perform is limited to the amount you paid us for that service. We are not liable for pre-existing conditions we did not create, including undersized ducts, outdated wiring, corroded piping, asbestos, mold, or equipment installed by others that fails after we work on the surrounding system.

Our technicians follow the Vermont Fire and Building Safety Code, Vermont electrical licensing requirements for regulated wiring, and EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling rules, including proper recovery before any equipment is scrapped, as required under the Clean Air Act and Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation rules. We are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses such as spoiled food, lost rental income, or hotel stays resulting from a heating or cooling outage. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Vermont law.

Questions About These Terms

If anything here is unclear, call us at (555) 010-0000 or stop by our office at 100 Main St, Burlington, VT. We are happy to walk through scheduling policies, warranty coverage, or payment terms before you book, and we can provide a written copy of any section on request.

These terms apply to work performed by E2E-small-state-shared-plain and may be updated occasionally to reflect changes in Vermont codes, permit requirements, or our business practices. When we make material changes, we will post the revised version on this page and note the update date at the top.

Continued use of our services after an update means you accept the revised terms. If you have a dispute, please contact us first so we can resolve it directly.
